Marshall University Emeritus Chapter

Welcome Emeritus Chapter Members!

Welcome to the Marshall University Emeritus Chapter!

The Emeritus Chapter of the Marshall University Alumni Association, also known as the Marshall University Emeritus Club, is retired faculty and staff of  Marshall University along with spouses and guests. In addition, the spouse of a deceased retired Marshall faculty or staff member and a guest may also join. Others with an interest in the club’s activities are welcome to attend meetings as guests.

Meeting notifications are currently made by email message to a mailing list of active members.

The purpose of the Marshall University Emeritus Club is to provide opportunities for Marshall University retired faculty, staff, spouses and guests to meet for social interaction and intellectual growth through formal and informal presentations. The club, in so far as possible, also supports activities of the Marshall University Alumni Association.

WHAT IS AN ALUMNI CHAPTER?

An alumni chapter is a group, under the guidance and direction of Marshall University, that provides engagement opportunities for alumni in a specific area or through a particular area of interest.

WHY FORM AN ALUMNI CHAPTER?

Each chapter has its own unique character, but they all serve to connect alumni to Marshall. Individual chapters host university speakers, sponsor game watching parties for MU sporting events, cultivate relationships with prospective local students, fundraise for scholarships and other projects and provide opportunities for fellowship and fun for their members.

There are four shared principles for alumni chapters:

  • Student Recruitment & Enrollment
  • Professional Mentoring & Networking
  • Fundraising & Scholarships
  • University Support & Fellowship
